Raila Odinga, Martha Karua, Kalonzo Musyoka are among other Azimio leaders at the Milimani Courts this afternoon. The top leader have arrived at the court to witness the filling of presidential election petition.
on 15th August, IEBC chair Wafula Chebukati announced Ruto as the president elect. Later, Azimio leaders rejected the election results by highlighting several IEBC regularities.
In the battle between IEBC and Azimio lawyers, the two representatives are currently at the supreme court awaiting hearing. On 22nd August, Azimio party led by their lawyers have submitted election petition.
On the Milimani grounds, Azimio supporters are also seen outside, calmly protesting in support of the petition. The supreme court is expected to examine the submitted case before forwarding it to the court for hearing.
The Kenyans are awaiting the court decision regarding who will be the next president in the next 5 years. There is a possibility that the court will dismiss the petition or cancel the results and send Kenyans to the run off or re-election.
As of now, Kenya is not in a financial position to have a re-election of run-off. Indeed, the current economic crisis could grow worse should the court nullify the 9/8 election results. Kenyans are also tired of politics and are looking forward to economic growth.
Both Azimio and UDA supporters have shown high interest in going forward and rebuilding the economy. Following the current high cost of living, Kenyans are more interested in the president that will make it easy or better for the living condition.
