The Azimio Leader, Raila Odinga passes a message to Kenyans this morning. Raila was attending a Sunday service alongside many elected Azimio leaders in Karen. They attended Ack St. Francis Church in Karen on the morning of 14th August 2022.
Raila was accompanied by major party members including his deputy, Martha Karua, Kalonzo Musyoka, and Jalangoo. In the calm and peaceful event, Raila was given a chance to address the church members.
While speaking, Raila urged Kenyans to maintain peace during the long waiting period of election results. The Azimio leader seemed calm despite the ongoing IEBC verification of presidential results.
Raila mentions that he was happy to see familiar faces in church. Having have visited the church a long time, he also acknoledged new visits. The potential 5th president of Kenya thanked the lord for having taken him this far. He mentions that he is optimistic of the expected presidential results announcement from IEBC.
Speaking in lengthy, Raila quoted a bible verse, “lord, make me an instrument of peace.” “Where there is hatred, let there be love. Where there is injury, pardon. Where there is debt, faith, where there is dispair, hope , where there is darkness, light, and where there is sadness, joy.” Raila says that this is the message from St. Francis to the hopeful christians.
This morning, Raila felt so humbled and close to God than any other time of his politics. Is this a sign of conceding defeat? While analyzing the event, Citizen Tv political analysist mentions that Raila’s words are of hope and also could signify acceptance of defeat.
