IEBC continue to release verified presidential results. Kenyans from all over the world are eager to know who will be the next president of Kenya.
According to the already announced results, Ruto is ahead of Raila. Before verification, Nation center had shown that Ruto was winning the election. This was according to the results counted before IEBC could stop them. Depending of those results, Ruto had 49.91% while Raila held 49.41% with each 6,703,493 and 6,636,849 respectively.
The current IEBC report shows that Ruto already has 50.2% while Raila has 49.34%. These are results from 113 out of 291 constituencies. IEBC has longed to announce more results until Sunday 1 pm. According to the released results, there are no major changes in the numbers compared to those posted on the IEBC portals. Indeed, the overall verification so far might have changed less than 1% for both leading candidates.
Right now, IEBC has announced more than 10 constituencies. This seem to have taken a different and fast direction compared to how they were announcing. Earlier, IEBC were announcing about 2-3 verified constituency results. They were also slower, taking almost one hour to check one constituency. The current announcement seem to have summed up many constituencies that have been verified in less that 10 hours.
As Kenyans patiently wait for the final results tomorrow, IEBC may not beat the remaining time. However, the citizens are no longer as excited as they were on 10th and 11th. Indeed, many Kenyans are no longer rooting for a particular candidate. They feel that either Raila or Ruto can win and will be accepted as the president. Furthermore, What is critical is remaining calm and peaceful.
